Homeschool classes in algebra I and algebra II will be offered at Mathnasium of Concord, 354 George W. Liles Parkway, unit 60, starting Friday, September 18 and running until April 30, 2010.
Classes will be 1 hour in length
They will be using the Math-U-See curriculum, HOWEVER, they will be able to work with you if you are using a different currciulum.
The cost is $200.oo- Registration is due by September 1.
In accordance with state law, parents will be the primary teachers by reviewing the material and/or the DVD presentation with their students prior to the class.Mathnasium will reinforce/re- present/explain unit material.
Instructors:
Kristina Losey: has a masters degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder and opened Mathnasium in 2005. She has over 12 years teaching experience, seven as a math specialist. In 1994 she was named Outstanding Teacher of Mathematics. She is excited to help each child become successful in math.
Caroline Vest: graduated from Florida Tech in 1999 with a degree in civil engineering. She was director of a youth ministry for 4 years before teaching in Florida, Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties for 3 1/2 years. She has taught foundations of algebra, algebra 2, Pre-calc and advanced functions and modeling. She has left teaching to stay home with her son Ethan, born this past January.
