Homeschool Opera nights 2009-20010 Season

Hello!

I wanted to give those of you already planning your schedules for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year a heads of on this year’s Student Night at the Opera (at Piedmont Opera in Winston-Salem, NC)

The dates for Student Night at the Opera are:

Wednesday, September 30, 2009   Hansel and Gretel

Wednesday, April 7, 2010  Turandot Semi-Staged in concert

The special for homeschoolers usually includes a third regular performance by the NC School of the Arts Students.  It is not yet on the calendar.  I will update you all as the new school year begins.  Just wanted to give you a heads up on the other two dates.

The Piedmont Opera sets up a homeschooling section on student nights now that we have been doing this for several years in a row (4!) – so once the box office opens for ticket sales, you can buy individual tickets of the season tickets.  When you call to purchase tickets, just tell them that you’d like to be seated in the homeschool section.

Student Night at the Opera is an opportunity for students in grades 6-12 to witness professional opera performances for a very small cost.  In the past years it has been $3 for students and $15 for adults.
