This is a fun and very educational class. Each student will dissect their own specimen. I supply the dissection guide, all the tools and the specimens. The cost is 30.00 per student. This is a great class for any student age 8 and up who is interested in biology, medicine or just how the body works.Students will receive a certificate upon completion of the class. Heart For Homeschool Workshops

Passion for Home School" Seminar in Wake Forest, NC

Saturday, August 1st

9AM - 2PM

I would like to invite you to our upcoming Heart for Home School Ministries seminar: "Passion for Homeschool" on Saturday, August 1st at Grace
Assembly in Wake Forest. It is my desire to help those of you who are newer to home schooling by giving you information that will help you get
started, and connecting you with others who have experience with home education.

The seminar will have sessions on several topics of interest to both new and experienced home educators:

Programs-

Governor's, House, and Senate page programs: Which of these would be right for your student?

TeenPact, Student, and Moot Court: Learn how these programs work, how to apply for them, and how they will improve your child's understanding of our state and federal governments.

Academics- How to Avoid Random Acts of Teaching

Sometimes the desire to give our children a well-rounded school experience can push us out of balance with the amount of time we have to teach them. Learn tips to help you weigh out whether it is the right time to broaden your child's schedule
to include more extracurricular activities.

Support Groups-

There are groups that support a myriad of home education ideologies, philosophies, and religious preferences. Ethnicity, gender, age, geographic
location, special interests, special needs, or even hobbies can be the basis for joining a home school support group. How do you start one, or find the one that's just right for you and your family?

Sports-

This workshop will be especially of interest for parents who want their children actively involved in a sports program, or students that want to play organized league ball. Ernie Hodges, who directs the NCHE Athletic Conference (NCHEAC), begins with the concept of why we should engage in bodily exercise, how to start introducing physical education to the very youngest children, and ends with an overview of each of the home school sports leagues.

Innovate-

Find out how to take something that your child is passionate about and custom design course outlines for your student. How to explore a subject for which your student may have a passion - one that may be a little difficult to define goals for, as
well as find research and project time - and give them school credit. This workshop teaches moms how to include subjects or hobbies within their curriculum that the kids are really interested in, and are probably actively involved with. Put fun
into learning.

Organize-

Records, transcripts, classroom, schoolwork and even our students need organizing every now and then. This workshop provides helpful fun tips on
how to start and stay organized. (Or at least make a good attempt!)

NC Homeschool- Working with DNPE

Facing Facts, Removing Fear- This workshop, back by popular demand, is the highlight of the seminar for families who have homeschooled two years or
less. As a newer home educator, one question in particular you may have thought about is the recent decision by the Department of Non-Public Education (DNPE) to implement a records review.

Kristy Daughtry, of DNPE conducts each of the voluntary inspection meetings held across the state, and is able to address your questions, and respond to your concerns regarding this new inspection policy.

Location-

The seminar will be held at Grace Assembly, 2405
Wait Ave. (Hwy. 98), east of downtown Wake Forest.

JOHN ADAMS DOCUMENT ON VIEW AT STATE CAPITOL

Politicks is the science of human happiness—and the Felicity of Societies
depends entirely on the Constitutions of Government under which they live.
-- John Adams

RALEIGH – One of the most important documents authored by John Adams, second
president of the United States, was penned following questions from two
North Carolinians about governance. That document became “Thoughts on
Government, 1776,” and first came to North Carolina as a letter. That
handwritten letter will be displayed in a case at the State Capitol.

July 21-Sept. 8

William Hooper and John Penn were North Carolina delegates to the First
Continental Congress and were directed to seek ideas on state government
from John Adams. Each approached Adams separately, and he composed a
similar response letter for the two. Hooper’s was the first letter and was
delivered to Thomas Burke, chairman of the committee to frame a state
constitution. Adams refined his thoughts into a document later published as
a pamphlet entitled “Thoughts on Government, 1776.”

Hooper’s letter ended up in Burke’s private papers and was given to the N.C.
State Archives. For additional information on the document call (919)
807-7290. For information on the State Capitol call (919) 733-4994.

The State Archives and State Capitol are administered by the N.C. Department
of Cultural Resources, the state agency dedicated to the promotion and
protection of North Carolina’s arts, history and culture. It is now
podcasting 24/7 with information about the Department of Cultural Resources,
all available at www.ncculture.com

returned with a handwritten letter from John Adams about governance that now
belongs to the State Archives. The letter will be displayed at the State
Capitol July 21-Sept. 8. It evolved into one of Adams’ most important
Revolutionary writings, “Thoughts on Government, 1776.” (Photo courtesy of
