Aug. 23, 2006 - I can't handle the truth.

This has completely ruined my day:

If you like Yoplait strawberry yogurt, Tropicana grapefruit, orange-strawberry juice, or Hershey's Good & Plenty candies, chances are you will be sucking on the red coloring extracted from the female cochineal beetle and her eggs. These insects live on cactus plants in Peru and the Canary Islands.

While I do enjoy strawberry yogurt, I prefer cherry.  But I love Good & Plentys.  I consider them medicinal.  When I have an upset stomach, they always make me feel better.  They are an excellent PMS cure as well.

And now I find out they have beetle eggs in them? 

Why, oh why, did I have to click on that link about "Do you know what's in your food?"   Why?

That is revolting.....I am sorry for you!

About 5 years ago we had tea selling in our stores that had rat poo in it!.........For months South Africans were drinking Rooibos tea that had rat faeces mixed in it!!!!
