Nov. 3, 2008 - Back into the swing of things

It has been 2 weeks ago today that my sister Anna went back to Africa, and it seems that just now life has been settling down to the normal pace. We haven't had to run non-stop for the past week, which has been lovely. We have had many more quiet evenings home, and its just been nice...Of course we are going through a little wave of illness in the family. Light cases of the flu. I think I've got it now. Yuck. But other than that, all is going well in our household. Things are going to be g etting crazier as this week progresses, and we draw nearer to Thanksgiving and Christmas though. Dance practice starts back up tomorrow night. I like being in our dance group and everything, its just the weekly drives up to church (when dance starts we have a minimum of  3 trips there) which wouldn't be so bad, except it takes close to a half hour to get there, and by the time we get back home we are  hungry tired, and wound up and to slap happy for own good. I must say we sleep good those nights though.
This year however, I'm the only one in my family who needs to start going up to dance practice for a little bit, cause the first part of the program the dancer teacher only needs 3 girls, and I'm one of them:)

Tonight is a 4-H meeting...I just finished printing up my notes, as I am the secretary of our club... Tonight, however, is my last day as secretary. It is election night, and although I kind of like being our secretary, it'll be nice to not have to scribble down everything thats being said, then later trying to decipher what on earth I wrote, and put them in some sort of order.Todays notes were easy though as last meeting we focused on awards, so I just had to write down who won what. My parents won a glass candy jar that is engraved, that was handed out to some of the parents for there support and help through out the year, and Joel, Christina and I  each won a top 10 4-Her plaque. I was surprised that the actually narrowed it down to 10 members this year... Usually our top 10 are really top 15 cause our club has a lot of members.
But since this is my last year in 4-h, I plan on running for president! hopefully I'll get it... I'm not sure who else will be running for anything though. But we'll see. For right now, I need to go put on socks cause my toes are cold, and take something to get rid of this head ache, so I'll let you all know if I got elected or not!
Probably not tomorrow though. Cause first I have to go vote (woot! McCain Palin are getting my support this year!!!) then I have a voice lesson, then I have dance practice.... But I find time I'll let you all know!

Good luck Cara!! You can put "endorsed by Megan Stonebraker" on all your flyers and things. Here, I might even have 50 cents in my pocket to support your campaign. : ) Seriously, though, good luck! I hope you get it. I mean, who else do they think will do a reasonably good job as 4-H President? : )
