Nov. 10, 2008 - The battle: Cara vs. the running hyper puppies
I was sick yesterday, so I stayed home from church...My parents went to my gramma's church right after our church for something, so I was home alone almost all day. Anyway, my brother Dan came over in the afternoon, with his two puppies, Katy and Georgia. I had laryngitis, so remember, I couldn't speak above a whisper...
The beginning of the battle:
It was around 1 o' clock, and I had finally gotten something to eat, as my throat wasn't as sore, and it wouldn't hurt to eat something. So I heated up a bowl of home made chicken noodle soup, and had just settled on the couch and eaten a bite of soup when my brother opened the door...In came running Katy and Georgia, tripping over each other and yapping playfully, and jumping on me, thus jumping into my bowl of soup. ARhg.That was round one... the puppies won, and I had to go dump my soup.
Round 2. Daniel was outside fixing the brakes on his wife's car, so I was inside with the puppies. I hear a sort of crunching noise, and look behind a chair to see Georgia with some small plastic object (as in thumb tack size) I grab her and try to take it away, but she swallowed it before I could get it out. Slightly exasperated, I sit back down...In comes Katy, chewing on some other object. a towel I believe. I whisper to her to drop it, and she misunderstood my demand to make her put it down, and thought that I w anted her on my lap. So she hopped on my lap and began licking my face happily. As I'm trying to shove her off, Georgia sees the fun and jumps on me and tries licking my face too. I finally shove them off, and the run into the kitchen... a few seconds later, they come running back into the living room playing tug of war with my brothers hat. I whisper to them to stop, and grab it away.. The go back into the kitchen...A moment later I hear a hissing sound, and go into the kitchen to see what was the problem... Georgia found Snaggle, our cat. Snaggle is a big cat, only a little smaller than the puppies. Katy for the most part left snaggle alone, but of course Georgia had to see what this great hissing beast was, and pretty much drove snaggle nuts.. after stopping the hissing and barking war several times, I got fed up, and shoved the dogs out the door.
Round 2, I won.
about 15 minutes later my brother Dan says, "hey Cara, I'm gonna leave the dogs in here for 5 minutes, I have to go test Julie's car to make sure it works.." so I was stuck chasing after the puppies, pulling things out of there mouths, breaking up more hissing/barking wars, and stuff of the sort. Finally Dan came back, got the puppies and left... So I went to re-heat another bowl of soup... I get it warmed up, I settle back on the couch, take a bite and... the door opens, and Dan has returned with the running hyper puppies. Why he came back I don't know, but he was able to stop them before they jumped into my bowl again, and he held onto them, and got them to go right to sleep... It was after 2;30 when I finally finished eating. they stayed in the liiving room after that, and a little later my brother Seth came home with a pizza, and Dan was able to keep them from jumping alll over us, and they were very well behaved little imps after that.
but they are so cute... and Katie curled right up and fell asleep on me... and You can't resist holding a sleeping puppy. its almost like holding a sleeping baby...
Well, I can't say who won. I'd say we came to a truce and signed a peace treaty, and were happy after that.
Well, that was my adventurous day with the puppies! |
