1:00 – 2:00 p.m. – IMPROV IN THE PARK – Wentworth Park Fountain Area. Students from Class Acts Drama School will be performing improv games. Each day will be completely different from the last and they will be using suggestions/ideas from the audience.
6:00 p.m. – FRINGE THEATRE FESTIVAL – Presented by Cape Breton Stage Society – 12 Original Plays in 5 Downtown Sydney Locations: – 258 Charlotte Street (Scotia Bank Lot) – Jana Gillis, “Pipe Dreams” ; Mike MacKenzie “The Playground”; Kristin Petite “Love Story” (Dir. Stephanie Johnson) - 275 Charlotte Street (Post Office Lot) – Wesley Colford “Excuse Me, Would You Like to Buy a Bar?”; Walter Carey “Exports”; Amy-Jean MacDonald “A Part of our Heritage” - 307 Charlotte Street (London Jewelers Lot) – Keith Morrison “Goons” (Dir. JonJon Collins); Keith Morrison “Sweet, Sweet Lovin’” (dir. Ashley MacLeod); Brent Martin & James FW Thompson “Metal Life circa 1985” – St. Andrew’s Hall (40 Bentinck Street) *Note these plays are not suitable for young audiences. Jason Burke “Disconnected”; Bonnie MacLeod “Traveling Vicariously” - CB Regional Library (50 Falmouth Street) – Kristen Woodford “Lynda and the Bad Dog”. Pay-what-you can with profits going to Transition House. Donations to library accepted at that location.
**The performance at the Library of Lynda and the Bad Dog is a great one to go to as a family - there will also be a Saturday matinee at 3pm.
