Hey everyone. Before I start writing my entry I want to point out the reason for something if you have noticed it on my blog. Sometimes the entries that I wrote a while back wih pictures in them are deleted after a few months and that is because for some reason there is a limit on the control panel of my blog that wont let me upload more than a few pics. So if I want to post another entry with pictures I have to delete the last one first. Anyway, Christmas time is finally here! One of my favorite times of the year! Recently I have been taking a lot of classes at a college near my grandma's house (and have beenbusy with homework and such) and little Lorenzo is almost five months old (and needs LOTS of attention!!). So with the combination of the two I really haven't had time to start having fun with the "christmasy" things that I love doing in December. But soon my classes will be over and Christmas brake is coming soon and that means that I can begin decorating, cooking, baking, putting up the tree, going to see Bob Baker's Marianets, Glory of Christmas, and making crafts with my siblings. And in my next entry I post Christmas pics of all of our activities. So how do bloggers like the new theme of my blog. Groovy....no? :) te he.... By the by I came upon a recipe that sounds awesome for the holidays! In fact I am baking it right now in the oven as I type! I am a huge fan of biscottis, I love baking them, (and no I will not accept the mispronounciation of the word: "Biscaaaty"! It is prounounced "Bi-sco-ty") and this recipe makes me salivate just by reading the title. Have a fun Christmas! (Ps. I didn't write this recipe).
Triple Chocolate Chip Biscottis
INGREDIENTS:
- 5 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups cocoa powder
- 2 tbs baking powder
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 tbs vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 400F. Cream sugar and butter. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until smooth and add vanilla extract. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the egg mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Shape the dough into 6 longs loaves and brush with beaten egg yolk. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely. Cut each loaf into 1 inch slices and place back on baking sheet. Reduce heat to 350F and place slices back into the oven. Bake for another 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and cool. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate, and drizzle over the biscotti.
