Sep. 7, 2007 - Providence
Today is the first day of Providence. Providence is a tutorial program for homeschoolers that we've been involved with on and off since Katy was in Kindergarten. I'm on the Board of Directors as Registrar and Jimmy starts his second year as the Civics tutor. Joy will be taking Jimmy's class and a creative writing class this year.
This is the closest I get to getting my kids up and off to school. I'm very thankful to Providence and all it offers, but I'm even more thankful for the gift of homeschooling these past 15 years where I haven't had to get my kids up and off to school!

When I think of the energy (and discord) caused by an arbitrary school schedule (different for every school each child in our family no less!!) I shudder to think of how that scene is repeated over and over without thought to why. So very, very glad to have an alternative to that hassle!! It's different when you choose it for a good reason (like Providence or a special Field Trip or something). Hope you all have a great year and I know you and Jimmy are a blessing there. Come on down soon!
