Dec. 18, 2008 - Pilgrim Lapbook
This is Hannah's Pilgrim lapbook that I got last year from Hands of A Child It is a mult-level lapbook, so you can do it with both your younger learners and your older learners.

This first picture is the cover that Hannah decorated with drawings and clip art (all project packs also come with clip art that you can decorate your lapbook withThis is her first folder. It contains vocabulary words, The Scrooby Separatists, A bio on Squanto, another mini-book on Squanto, The Original Plan (what the plan entailed before they had to board the Mayflower), secret meetings and more. There was so much I never learned in my years in public school!!

The next side she traced the Mayflower's Voyage, what the consequences of meeting in secret in Englad were, what kind of clothing (it wasn't just black like is always portrayed), compare and contrast the Puritans and the Seperatists, The first winter (moms died because they gave their food rations to their children), Samoset, U.S. Presidents with ties to the Mayflower, a little about the Mayflower Compact, Passenger Stats based on William Bradford's journal, and what were women's rights back then. On the outer flap there is a flip book on the Guests (did you know there wasn't enough food for all the Pilgrims and Indians because the Indians brought friends because it was their tradition to bring friends along) Interesting stuff indeed!

Fully opened (sort of) showing the flip book on guests:

Hannah shared some of what she learned with our family on Thanksgiving, and everyone was very surprised at what she knew and they didn't and also the fact that she was able to recite facts without help.
