Jul. 5, 2009 - Value Fiction from Waterbrook

I love books and I like books even more when they cost less than $10.00, although I will admit it has been awhile since I've bought a book for myself because the library has been my best friend since becoming a homemaker and so I was glad to see that Waterbrook is offering some cheap summer fiction!  Scroll down to learn about A Promise for Breanna and  Maire, the two books I recieved for this tour.

This was a great book and I have a review posted at An Ohio Reviewing Mom, my blog for reviews.

Maire  (ISBN-13: 978-1-60142-256-0)
by Linda Windsor, book one in Fires of Gleannmara. Maire, Warrior Queen of Gleannmara, finds her fierce heart gentled by a reformed mercenary, a Christian, who’s taken hostage during a raid.

I am in the middle of reading this one and I will post a review at An Ohio Reviewing Mom. when I am finished with it.  For now, my thoughts are it is a slow start.  There are some words that I have to look up in the glossary at the back of the book to understand, but once you see the word a couple times you either just overlook it or begin to remember what it is.  While it's been a good book so far, it is one that you have to have time to read.  Look for a more detailed review upon my completion of the book.

A Gathering of Finches (ISBN-13: 978-1-60142-247-7)
by Jane Kirkpatrick. A turn-of-the-century Oregon coastal couples’ life is seen through the eyes of the wife, her sister, and her Indian maid who discover reasons why money and possessions can’t buy happiness, forgiveness or relieve consequences of choices.

Waterbrook summer release of value line books will also include a 99 Ways (July 2009) and Non-fiction series (September 2009).
