Upcoming Events at Cherokee Heritage Center - Tahlequah

April 22
Cherokee Pottery Class. Saturday, April 22, PJ Gillam-Stewart will be teaching the history of Southeastern handcrafted pottery.  Pottery has always been an important part of Cherokee heritage and much of it has been found at various sites in the old Cherokee Nation.  Class fee is $40. May 13th
Limb Flute Class: A demonstration on how to create a Native American style flute from a tree branch and will cover the tools, methods and design of a flute that can be used by anyone.

May 20th
Gospel Sing and Hog Fry. Guests are invited to bring their lawn chairs and listen to several Cherokee and English gospel music groups.  A FREE hog fry is also served at this event. June 5 to Aug. 20
The Life of John Ross Exhibit: John Ross served as Chief of the Cherokee Nation from 1828 until his death in 1866.  His administration lasted during a time that included the Removal, the "Golden Age" and the Civil War.
