Geography Bee Info - Statewide
At least six, and possibly 7 or 8, of the 55 participants in the National Geography Bee in Washington DC on May 24th were homeschoolers! Read about it here: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/04/0404_060404_state_bee.html
The winners from the school level bees across the state take a written test and the top 100 scores go to the state bee. The winner of the state bee and their "teacher" get an all expense paid trip to Washington DC to the national bee.
If anyone is interested in participating or hosting a school bee and needs more information please contact Tamara at tamaragelnar@sbcglobal.net. The more groups that host a bee, the more chances homeschoolers have of getting to the national bee. You
only have to have a minimum of six students (4th through 8th graders)
