Homeschool Workshops by Cindy Downes - Tulsa

Homeschooling: Teaching Without Textbooks (K-8)
Friday, June 23 (1:30-4:00) $17.00
Learn how to homeschool using the library, the internet, bookstores, and other local resources. You'll learn what "teaching without textbooks" is all about, how it will help your children, how to teach more than one grade level at a time, and how to write your own lesson plans based on this method.

This all-day workshop is for parents who are just looking into homeschooling or who are currently homeschooling but looking for some new ideas. Cindy will show you how to get started, how to keep records, how to set your schedule and how to choose curriculum based on your childs learning style, needs, and abilities. She will also demonstrate the writing of a simple curriculum plan, how to integrate hands-on learning with textbooks, and how to utilize the internet, the local library and other available resources.
