Mini-Society Workshop (Student Entrepreneurs) - Norman, OK
The Oklahoma Council on Economics Education
(OCEE) is having a free Mini-Society workshop for homeschooling
parents to teach them about a program for teaching elementary age
students about being entrepreneurs. Time: October 28, 12:00 pm to
3:00 pm. Where: Marie Callenders, 3025 William Pereira, Norman. Lunch
provided the Federal Reserve, OKC Branch
Learning by doing is the key for elementary students who participate in
OCEEs Mini-Societyฎ program. Students learn about economics and
entrepreneurship while having fun by building a market economy in
miniature. Targeted primarily for students age 8-12, Mini-Societyฎ is
an excellent tool to teach students about the real world and real
life experiences. It involves hands on activities where students can
produce and sell their own products, earn their own income and manage
their own resources. (Even though the program is officially for older
elementary ages it is workable for all ages.)
Learn the basics of how to implement a Mini-Societyฎ and how to use the
experiences of students as a basis to teach economic ideas and
entrepreneurial skills. Participants receive free curriculum. RSVP by
