Clark Improv
Hey Clarkies;
June 13 - 15th in the Norman Theatre at the Tulsa PAC.
Kicking off the weekend at 8 pm on Friday, June 13, the Laughing Matter Comedy troupe goes downtown in a unique evening of improvisational comedy. For one night only, a few of the adult Heller Laughing Matter troupe will combine with the Clark Theatre Laughing Matter (that's you) for a show featuring Tulsa's funniest improv performers. All tickets $10.
On Saturday June 14, the Norman Theatre hosts the Tulsa Area Community Theatre Alliance showcase. Just under a dozen local theatres will perform 10 pieces that show off their best features. Among the offerings, Heller Theatre reprises a scene from "Recent Tragic Events," and Clark Theatre shows a scene from its recent production of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." It's a great way to get a 'sampler platter' of Tulsa's thriving theatre scene. The show starts at 8 pm and all tickets are $10.
On Sunday, June 15 'Round the Bend Players' present "Granny Diva," written by local playwright Dale Whisman. This original comedy tells the story of Marie, who, after the death of her husband, begins taking acting classes on a lark. Finally lifting herself out of depression, Marie discovers a talent for acting that takes her from community theater to Broadway, with an unexpected stop at Divaville. Marie's rediscovery of her true self is at the heart of this original play. 'Round the Bend Players', is Tulsa's first senior theatre troupe. The show starts at 2 pm and all tickets are $10.
All these events are part of the annual SummerStage festival and sponsored in part by the Tulsa PAC Trust.
