P_Farms Field Trip - Weatherford, OK
Field trips run on Monday - Friday from
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and last anywhere from 2 - 3 hours. All trips to P_Bar
Farms include the following: - Farm video
- Agri-education
- Lunch on the farm (Bring sack lunches, or concessions are available...pop, candy, and chips)
- Hay ride showing all crops grown at the farm
- General education about agriculture detailing crops grown at the Farm
- Finally, each child will leave with a souvenir from the field
Once on site, your students will receive a brief introduction to the
Farm and maze, how it was made, and the agricultural principles behind
it. We offer FREE Teacher's Guide, curriculum, and activity sheets
designed to help generate ideas for teaching about agriculture in the
classroom, before exposing your students to the hands-on experience of
the Maze. The lesson ideas and activities are centered around corn and
agriculture in order to allow students to become familiar with the
topics they will be "tested" on at the Maze.
P_Bar Farms is
located on I-40 between Hydro and Weatherford, Exit 84 (from West) or
Exit 88 (from East) and follow Route 66 (North access road) for
approximately 3 miles

Finance Workshop for Kids - Weatherford
|
Learning, Earning, and Investing
Workshop. Nov. 11 Weatherford, Western Tech Center, 9:00am to
3:00pm. This workshop introduces the new SMG curriculum Learning,
Earning, and Investing, a comprehensive investor education program for
students in grades fourth through 12th. This curriculum introduces
students to the world of investing, its benefits and risks, and the
critical role it plays in fostering capital formation and job creation
in our free market system. Lessons cover basics such as the language of
financial markets, reading the financial pages and financial
institutions in the U.S. economy as well as stocks, bonds, and mutual
