My Mom Does Drugs

I feel wonderful.

After three months of having a cold that hangs on for 10 days, goes underground leaving a slight cough for 10 days, then comes back for 10 days, then continues the cycle over and over and over again ad nauseum (literally)...I finally gave in and took an over-the-counter drug.

Vicks44.

I love you, Vicks.

I don't like taking any drugs...even antibiotics. I try to find another way if at all possible.

But one more long drawn out dry mouthed stuffy nosed night was going to send me over the edge!

Abraham is close enough to a year that if taking one night's dose dries up his meal supply, we can just move on over to milk in a cup. Tho that isn't my first choice, it's better than "going over the edge".

My nose is clear. My cough is gone. It's all a mirage...the virus is still in there trying to mess with my head. But the mirage is going to give me a good night's sleep, and maybe I can actually beat this stinking cold and get on with real life.

BTW, do your kids think the whole prescription drug/illegal drugs thing is amusing?  My children do.  Probably because they have no idea what a bad drug is, and the idea of going to jail for taking Benedryl just cracks them up. When we go by the drug store, the silly 8 year old jokes start.

And tonight: "Mom's doing drugs! Call the police! Har har har. Ha ha ha!"

Time for bed, kids.

LOL...I'm glad that you are at least momentarily feeling better. I'm about to have to break down and "do drugs" too...this spring weather we are having is driving my allergies crazy.

I am like you. I try natural if at all possible. BUT there are definite times when drugs are my friend. God made them too. I just think some people make them a God. Hope you feel better soon. Love,
Julie

Glad you are feeling better. After months and months of feeling aweful and having sinus infections, I decided that the occassional OTC med isn't so bad afterall. I'd rather be DOPEY and laughed at than SLEEPY and GRUMPY from all the sickness. Of course, when we go to the counter to buy the NyQuil and they ask if I am over 18, we all laugh. Do I look 18? My kids (and husband) always say, "yep, she's 118"...thanks, kids!

All of my kids snicker when we see..."Safeway Food and Drugs". Occasionally the 'Food' is broken and my kids love that we're going to Safeway to get....SAFEWAY DRUGS. ha,ha.
From the daughter of a doctor...I like drugs. Advil is my best friend once a month :)

We are a fairly large homeschooling family with one just starting out in life, some of school age, and one married with a family of his own. There are many things unique about us, but the first thing most people notice is that some of us are black and some of us are white. Thus our name...Eleven Oreos. This blog is for recording journal entries for our children...most specifically our daughters and daughters-in-law...in case there is anything they can learn from our turn on the seesaw.
