Eleven Oreos

Christafari

A few people asked me about the reggae music we listen to.  We do listen to some reggae that is secular, but you have to be careful of the message wrapped in the great music.  I mentioned that we mostly listen to Christafari which is Christian reggae. However, when I linked to their site, the music they had playing was not the music that we listen to here at home.

So here is a link to Amazon.com that has a list of songs on one of our cds that we really enjoy.  I love how they have "reggaed" a couple of traditional Christian songs.  There are a few songs that are favorites while we are working.  Once A Man, Twice A Child is the one we do The Funky Chicken to.  My children love Jesus First and Jah Is I Light.

This particular cd is apparently a remastered cd of the older one...the older cd being the one that I have.

Check out their other cds. They do have more reggae. And tho you can't actually listen to it on Amazon, their reggae worship cd for kids is so much fun and might be a good investment for chore incentive.  You know, "C'mon kids! Time for chores and Christafari! Let's move!"  And they all say, "Yay!!"

We ended up losing Christafari's Soul Fire CD when 25 CD's were stolen by a member of our youth group. Man, I miss that album.

So you like reggae music, hate pugs, and are addicted to ding dongs. So that about somes up Shurleen eh?LOL
I can picture you now with your dread locks.( BTW they are easy to grow for Sol and Peter. Let their hair grow and dont wash it.EEEK!)
So SHurleen with her blonde dreads, wearing a T-shirt with a pic of a pug inside a circle with a slash over it and doing chores to Reggae whilst enticing the children with Ding Dongs. Yeah. You are soooo one of a kind. But that's why I love ya!

We are a fairly large homeschooling family with one just starting out in life, some of school age, and one married with a family of his own. There are many things unique about us, but the first thing most people notice is that some of us are black and some of us are white. Thus our name...Eleven Oreos. This blog is for recording journal entries for our children...most specifically our daughters and daughters-in-law...in case there is anything they can learn from our turn on the seesaw.
