Ditch Crab

Elijah caught this very tiny crawfish in our front ditch.  But to Elijah, it's a ditch crab.    I have never seen one this tiny, have you?

We Love The Rain

The kids get so excited when they think it might rain.  They are hopeful that they may get to play in it.  They have a blast running around in the rain!  Do you let your kids play in the rain?

Cut it Out

Here’s a piece of our conversation with the kids this morning while eating breakfast:

Rachel: “Egg comes from a chicken.”

Dad: “Yes it does. But how do we get the egg from the chicken?”

Elijah: “If it’s facing the right way it just comes out. But if it’s not facing the right way, you have to cut it out.”

Sweet Introductions

Our precious little blessings are here.  We went to the hospital in the early morning on May 6th for an induction.  After 6 hours of unproductive labor my doctor said that it was no longer safe for me or the babies to continue.  He said we'd have to have a c-section.  My hopes were so high that we'd be able to deliver naturally.  I was extremely upset about the decision for surgery.  But all went very well.  There were no complications during the procedure.  We were blessed with a wonderful doctor and staff at the hospital.  And blessed beyond words with two beautiful healthy boys!  Owen Marcus was born first at 3:55pm weighing 5 pounds 11 ounces and 18.5 inches long.  Then at 3:56pm Corban Edward was born.  He weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 20.5 inches long.  It was my prayer that the babies would be healthy and not require a visit to the NICU.  That prayer was answered and both were able to recover with me.  They never left my side the entire stay in the hospital.

Please meet Owen Marcus and Corban Edward.

This is Corban.

This is Corban with his brother by his side.

Can you tell them apart yet?  This is Owen.

Ready to go home!

Here they are getting a suntan near the window.  Can you guess who's who?

I just love this shot of Owen!

My Big Belly is Still Here!

Yes, yes, yes ~~ I am still here.  I have not taken the time to blog in a loooong time.  My energy is GONE and my focus is no where near this computer!

We have been trying really hard to finish the school year before the twins arrive.  But it ain't gonna happen!  We have 6 more weeks left of school and only 4 days before the babies will be born.  WHAT??  Yep, 4 days!  I went to the doctor this past Wednesday and learned that both babies are head down!!!  We will induce labor this Wednesday May 6th!  I am so excited!  And the kids are excited too!  I guess my belly won't get much bigger!

Here's Evan and I playing "where's Evan?"

There he is!

That's a big belly!

Rachel's tickled about something.

Elijah just can't wait to meet the babies.

Elijah loves kissing them.

Please continue to pray that all goes well.  It's my prayer that the twins remain head down!  I'll be just at 37 weeks when we deliver.  My doctors are very happy with that!  They also want to go ahead and induce labor to increase the chances for a natural delivery (which is very important to me).  I'll try to post an update as soon as possible.
