I have seen this on a few blogs, and wanted to try it myself. It was fun, but more difficult than I thought it would be. Thank you,
Mrs Blythe, for the idea.
WHERE I'M FROM
I am from sandals, from OMO and camels milk.
I am from the mud brick house, thatched roofs and hot sun.
I am from the periwinkles, hibiscus, and oleander, the bougainvillea and thorn tree, the sea and the sand.
I am from stollen and reserve, from Edmonds and Benefiels and Millers.
I am from the inability to take a vacation unless we were physically away, and the saving up of conversation to cram it into the month we were home from school.
From "We'll be counting the days..."and "With much love and many prayers, Mom and Dad".
I am from the belief in Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Redeemer. A most loved child of God.
I'm from Africa, Germany, England, Ireland and Scotland, chai and chapatis.
From the Mom in America, who went to be a missionary in Africa and said to her Mother, "God can provide a husband on the mission field too"; the Dad in Canada who went to be a missionary in Africa bearing "Thankyou's" from his cousins for the babysitting this young woman had done for them. To meet in a land far away..., and I am from them.
I am from the Equator, where the sun shines hot and the days and nights are nearly equal in length, the cold and frozen North, and the temperate climate of places more southern and western. I am from all these places and they are a part of me.
