The day after the wonderful week...

I went to bed early last night, and still woke up forty minutes after my alarm went off, and felt very groggy for the first hour after I got up. It didn't help that the house felt freezing!! I shivered into my clothes and came downstairs to find the thermostat at 15 deg. Celsius. That's just under 60 deg. F for you Americans. The circuit breaker for the furnace flipped off sometime last night, and the furnace hadn't come on this morning. A quick trip down the the very cold and wet basement remedied that, but it was some time before the house warmed up.
It didn't help my groggy cold mood to hear, from not just one, but both of the children, " I don't want to do school today." Ugh!
We started about 20 minutes late, and a bit slowly, but somehow managed to finish the morning a few minutes early. Belle had a small meltdown late morning when she got introduced to two new things--verb tenses and a new spelling rule--in quick succession. I spent several minutes trying to encourage her that she wasn't expected to know everything about both ideas in the first day. The rest of the morning, and indeed, the rest of the day, went just fine.
Both of the children are now outside playing in the snow, and I am about to tackle the job of finding something for supper. I haven't a clue about what to have, really. Dinner (at lunchtime) was leftover curry, and dinner tomorrow will be leftover lasagna. Suppers are a different matter. What to eat?
On a bright note--my TOS winter issue came in the mailbox today! I can hardly wait to dig in--but tonight is supposed to be my walking night, so I don't know if I'll get to it before tomorrow.
