For some reason, we all got up and going bright and early today. We started lessons on time, finished early, and had time to play before lunch. This afternoon we did reading and Sonlight out on the deck. I told Belle that if she did her best at reading, we might be able to do it again. She did very well. I did more "paired reading" than we usually do, and it did seem to boost her confidence.
The children still have colds. I stayed home from church with Boo yesterday because his nose was so runny. He also coughed a lot last night, and I am out of cough syrup. It doesn't seem to be affecting their appetites or energy too much though.
Belle is doing very well with her new bike. She is managing to ride in circles around the back yard without training wheels. We have let them ride in the back yard for about a week now, and she is really catching on. Boo now has her first bike, and although he is using the training wheels, his balance is very good. His trike will be going to live with some friends at the end of the week.
I finished a small cross stitch project I was working on. Now the rush is on to find a frame before the Fall Fair at the end of the week. Belle wants to finish a sewing project for her entry. My husband will be doing some baking. He usually enters shortbread--for a prize of several pounds of butter, if he wins (which he often does). I usually try to enter a cross stitch, but they have dropped the "large" category, and I don't do many small ones. I am hoping the one I just finished qualifies as medium--17 colors and over 300 stitches. ( I will try to post photos when I get it framed.) If I win, I get $3--less than the cost of my entry ticket.
Now that I am excited about finishing a project, I want to finish a few others--the one that I have mountains of back-stitching to do on (probably will take around 20 hours to finish) and another that I am about half-way through. Then of course there are thoughts swimming around my head for the next project--one I can take with me when I go to Scotland. Needless to say, I didn't do very well tonight. I haven't picked up a needle, and it is almost time to go to bed. Hopefully I can do something tomorrow.
