Life has just been too crazy to blog this week. I'll see if I can give a brief rundown.
Monday we did lessons, and I blew my nose, and did laundry, and I blew my nose. (Fortunately my cold is getting better now, although I am still coughing and blowing a bit.)
Tuesday I worked on laundry and cleaned a bit and tried to get ready for my brother and sister-in-law's visit. That morning though, Belle was sick with a pain in her tummy. She had no appetite at all, and threw up once. By lunchtime it was so severe that my 1:30 p.m. appointment at the clinic turned into a 12:30 p.m. visit to the ER.
Because her pain was right lower quadrant they did a work-up for appendicitis. Nothing showed on the bloodwork and her pain eased as the afternoon went on, so we eventually came home. She was sick again that night, but her situation didn't seem to be worse than the afternoon, so we just watched her. The interesting thing was that the pain seemed to be intermittent.
Went back to the doctor on Thursday because she was still prone to lying about on the couch looking pale and in pain. They've done more bloodwork, and we are waiting on results. We have a possible diagnosis of a self-limiting condition that can mimic appendicitis symptoms, and as she is slowly getting better, we think that is probably correct.
Belle was very disappointed that her energy level was not normal during most of her Auntie and Uncle's visit. However she was able to play some games and go for a few walks--after which she would lie on the couch again.
We had a lovely lovely time with the relatives, and they left a very big hole when they left today! I don't get to see them really often as they work overseas.
The other thing we did this week was to host a two day/meal open house for the folk who attend our church. It worked out really well and we had a great time of fellowship. I must say that I would be perfectly happy not to see another hamburger for a few days at least!
Looking toward next week, my priority seems to be the cleaning of the house. We are expecting more visitors early in the week, so there are some things I have to do. I am really too tired tonight to think about all I need to do. I am truly looking forward to tomorrow as I've missed church the past two weeks due to illness either in myself or one of the children.
If you made it this far, may you have a truly restful Lord's Day.
