Catching up!

OK...I'll try this again. I typed my entire post out last night only to get booted offline..good ole dial-up!

So on Sunday Rob and the big boys went out to the woods to put up 2 deer stands. While there were out there my 9yo got chased and stung approximately 13 times by bees. Rob, true to form, chased Reide down and killed all the bees (You go honey!). They went back to putting up the stands-Reide was pushing through the pain...just like a little man uh!

They got back to the house about 20 minutes later and he came up to tell me....in total tears that he got stung. I sent him downstairs for treatment. Baking soda and water. Normally this works for pain however if you are severly allergic to bees...it will do no good. We proceeded with Benedryl. We headed to the ER because everything on the little guy started swelling. We sat there for nearly 2 hours with monitors hooked up to him to make sure he was breathing ok.  He was. Thank you Jesus Christ our Savior!

We went home with the thought that he wasn't going to leave the house until we could get his Bee Sting Kit and the Stereoid (that we decided NOT to use unless absolutely needed).

So after school on Monday we headed off to Walmart. I dropped the scripts off and...5 Hours later they were done...long story I will not get into.

While we were at Walmart I noticed 2 or 3 carts full of Mum flowers sitting outside. No price on them and actually it looked like they were going to throw them away because of how they were stacked. So cheap skate...ahem Proverbs 31 woman that I am, I ask the greeter what will be done with them. She sents me to the courtsey counter. They called someone named Jack. Jack wanted to know how much I'd pay for them because they can't just give them away. I stumbled around and finally said "how about $20. a cart and I'll take one cart". All the while thinking to myself-what will I do with THAT many Mums?

So the gal gets off the phone with Jack and she says Jack wants to do you one better.  $20 and you take ALL 3 carts. I slightly panic and say oo...oo...ok.  Not fully aware of what I was getting myself into.  I paid and then the children and I began to load them up. My 12 passenger van, minus the last bench seat, was filled! I spotted a friend and nabbed her and sent her home with approximately 15 plants. Not even a dent in my load. As we are leaving another passenger van is pulling into the parking lot and waves to us. I don't know her but I wave back. Then I realize...another victim. I turn around and head over to their van. As it turns out she and I have a friend in common. Anyway back to pawning off the Mums...I mean blessing other families. I ask her if she could use some and tell her my story. She took about 10-15 of them...yay! Now I have a new friend too.

So anyway in middle of waiting on the scripts I head to another friends house and drop off about 30 more plants.  She had passed up 2 pots of them for $11. each the day before! Isn't God good how He blesses His people! I went home and grabbed Rob because he had some hunting things he needed to shop for, then we headed back to Walmart.  We got everything and then finally headed home.

On our trip home I was rejoicing in how we have been so blessed with our new-to-us van. Our other van wasn't safe for driving (mechanically or otherwise) where we live. Deer frequently run out in front of us and in the other van we could easily get hurt by hitting one of them. We all agreed and rejoiced together. We turn the corner and head down the last leg of our trip home. Low and behold...out runs a deer.  It happened so quick!  The deer went flying. We looked for it but never found it. This is absolutely amazing to us because the thing flew literally about 20 feet in the air when we hit it! Little damage to the van thankfully.

Today is a new day and a friend is bringing over tomatoes for me to can! Yay! I can't wait to make tomato soup! I have a great recipe. Maybe I'll share it another day. I've said enough today I think! More to come I'm sure!  Perhaps pictures of my latest projects that have been completed??

Update..she came dropped off tomatoes and I pawned...blessed her with some MUMS.

If your son was stung by that many bees at once a trip to the er should be immediate. And if you ALREADY know he has a reaction WOW! Go

We didn't know how many bees had stung him until well after all the hives went away. His first sting was just a few small hives around where the stinger went in. This was the second time he has ever been stung.
