NEW PCHEA LEADER NEEDED
It’s time to start looking for a new leader for our group. My two years will be up at the end of this school year. If you are interested in becoming our new group leader, please let me know as soon as possible. A vision statement should be submitted for the March newsletter. Please prayerfully consider this task. Remember that it takes willing members to make our group work.

Submitted by Pam White:
I have been Treasurer for 3 years and with all going on in our lives, need to step down if there is someone else in our group who feels the call to serve in this way. I promise that it is an easy job. Busiest time is the first month and little spurts here and there. You make deposits, write checks, balance the book, put out a year end run down and keep the paper products stocked. Not bad. I am just afraid that I might miss something or let something slip and do not want to let our wonderful support group down. I need to free up time to take care of the ones on the road that God is leading us on. If anyone is interested, they need to write a short bio of themselves and their family, why they want to serve in this capacity, and add any vision for our group. They can call or email me with any questions. I spoke to Crystal Wagoner several times about the position before deciding to take it. I am very glad that God led me to that decision.
I also want to put out that I still have Braum’s Book Buddy coupons for any who would like them. They are good until the end of June. Recap; the program is for 1st through 5th grades. You get one coupon good for a Braum’s treat for each 6 books the children read. There are 6 coupons in all.
Thanks,
Pam

Our Geography Fair is February 22nd.
When: February 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Lake Road Church of Christ on Highway 102
Each family participating will have a table where they can display their information about their country. You can have reports, maps, pictures, money, souvenirs, food...etc! If the children want to dress up in costume for their country that would be wonderful. You are only limited by you and your children's creativity. The children will not be giving reports but each person there will be given a passport that they will travel around to the various countries learning about that culture and having their passport stamped. Please bring a sticker or stamp to put on the passport of each person that visits your country. It is great if your stamp corresponds to your country but it is not necessary, as that may be difficult for some countries.
As well as bringing the items for your country, please bring a snack food to share. Drinks will be provided. If you are unable to participate by researching a country, please join us and come learn about other countries. Part of the joys of the home schooling journey is sharing and fellowshipping with other families.
If you have not signed up for a country there is still time. You can respond to Julie Cockroft at (number in directory).
Note from Beverly Mosman
If anyone is interested in going on field trips to museums in Oklahoma, I will arrange them. For a lot of the museums we can get group rates if we have over ten people. Just let me know if you are interested in a particular museum or type of museum and what day of the week would be best for you and I will gather more information.
If the weather is good Thursday, February 1, I am planning to be at the Oklahoma History Center. There are four fabulous galleries and you can easily spend a whole day in each one since there's so much to see. I have a scavenger hunt that I can email you if you don't have one already.

OBU THEATER OPPORTUNITY
Mrs. Laura Byland at Oklahoma Baptist University is teaching a class called "Theatre for Young Audiences-Older Childhood" this spring for OBU students. She needs about 30 children in grades 3-12 to participate with OBU students in this class. In other words, the OBU students need children to work with.
The dates for the workshop will be April 3, 5, 10 and 12; the times are from 12:30-1:45. All young people in grades 3 through 12 are invited to participate. Those participating will need to commit to all four sessions (2 weeks) in a row. The OBU students will be writing an original play from a storybook, which will be known in advance in case parents want to know the story. They will also be playing traditional and theatre games. OBU needs around 30 participants.
For more information, email Deanna Spruiell at Deanna.Spruiell@okbu.edu or call, 878-2347 to sign up or ask questions. The sooner you can let Deanna know if you are interested, the better.
