I have plenty of Braum’s Book Buddy coupons for those wanting them? They are for 1st – 5th grades. 6 coupons, one for each 6 books read. Good until the end of June, so still lots of time. As most know, we have had much happen in the last several months. Add to that a computer glitch a little while back and any requests that have not been filled have probably been lost. If anyone wants Braum’s coupons, just send an email with name, address, and number of coupons needed and I’ll get it out asap. Thanks. Pam White tinbarn(at)brightok(dot)net.

Opportunities and Events:
HORSE IN; Do you like horses? Do you like to draw? Then this may be just the thing for you!
You will design and color a drawing of a horse. If your horse is one of the 100 chosen, it will be made into a life-size fiberglass horse that will be displayed in Shawnee later this year in celebration of the Centennial Celebration. For more information including a gallery of designs already submitted, go to the following website: http://HorseInTheCity.googlepages.com . The deadline for submission is May 1st, so don’t delay.
Horse In The City is a citywide public art installation designed to enliven cultural activity and bring tourists to downtown Shawnee. The September 2007 exhibit will release up to 100 fiberglass horses onto the streets of downtown Shawnee.
The horses are to be sponsored by companies, organizations, and individuals, and be transformed into multimedia works of art by local artists and craftspeople. These extraordinary works of art will be installed in September 2007 to coincide with our State Centennial Celebration, auctioned off and will be publicly displayed in Shawnee until February 2008, when the auction winners will be able to take them home. The proceeds form Horse In The City will go to the City of Shawnee Beautification Fund and local charities. This city art project will be overseen by the Centennial Committee, an entirely volunteer committee.
