Back to School Fair
Tuesday, August 4th
6:00-9:00 P.M.
Lakeview Church of Christ
15301 Highway 102
… we have decided to move the Back to School Fair to
Lakeview Church of Christ (last year we were a little
cramped at he library, and had to be out by 8:30).
We have used this facility for past PCHEA events, and it
has been wonderful. We feel that it will offer need space
and allow more freedom to peruse the tables.
Along with the location change, we are also adding a
PCHEA members used book sale. This has been a
desire for may of us and it seems a good time to
combine it with the fair. If you should like, reserve a
table by Friday, July 31st, the cost is $5.oo.
Thank you,
Will and Nancy Schwab

groups.yahoo.com/group/pcheagroup
This is the address to our member only web-site; a variety of encouragement and information passes
around here that would otherwise be unknown to the group as a whole. For any of you who feel you
have been out of the loop and would like to learn how this works, there will be a Yahoo tutorial given at
the back to school fair, around 7:00.
For the already internet savvy – check online soon for the PCHEA waiver of liability and updated
membership form. These are also at homeschoolblogger.com/pchea (our open site). And, of course,
there will be hard copies available at the Back to School Fair.

NEW PCHEA HIGH SCHOOL GROUP

We are starting a PCHEA high school group which will culminate annually with a senior class graduation, the first being the class of 2010.

The purpose of the group is to allow our 9th-12th grade homeschoolers the opportunity of class identity, the formation of lasting friendships, social activities and an avenue for service in the community and to each other. Members of the senior class will hold offices and serve as the leaders of the group each year with the guidance of parent overseers. A group name, class colors, motto, scripture, etc. will be chosen by the young people. This year Ivy Poe with the help of Pam White will be the parent overseers.

The young people will meet to brainstorm activities and service projects for the upcoming year during the summer, one or two activities per month will be scheduled alternating social and service endeavors. A few meetings and/or activities will be designated senior only for the purpose of
senior class/graduation needs.

Oklahoma History
Check okhistory.org regularly for lesson plans, new exhibits, blog entries, reenactments, and special events. Classes or groups may order the history trunks that contain videos. Artifacts, games and activities. There is no charge if you pick up and return them. Beverly Mosman has Primary Sourceposters from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, with interesting pictures from the Canady collection, to give to anyone. Also, if you would like to have instructions on how to search for and view photos on the OK history website, email her – bmosman [at] okhistory [dot] org

About PCHEA

PCHEA is an OCHEC affiliated support group. We are Christian in orientation and leadership, as are most of our members, but we do not exclude anyone on the basis of their beliefs. We are committed to home educators; to help each other accomplish our educational goals, to support one another in love, and to strengthen and promote quality home education in our area. We are diverse with families from all walks of life. Families in our group espouse various educational philosophies, use a wide spectrum of curricula and teach children at many levels, from pre-school through high school.
