American History Students

Do you have pictures of your children that you would like to share with the PCHEA group?  How about pictures of a field trip or other school activity or event?  Send them to me, and I will post them here on the website!  We all enjoy seeing what other home schoolers are doing!!!

This picture shows the five students who are in my American history class at CFA.  At the end of the first quarter they each wrote a 3-5 page paper on a topic related to the colonial time period and also made a display item related to their topic.  The students did great on their presentations!

School Time Photos

Submitted by Jenny H.:
We did a study on Caterpillars turning into a moth or butterfly. We made these
butterflies for an art project and we also watched our fuzzy caterpillar turn into a beautiful
white moth.

Thank  you, Jenny, for sharing these pictures of your children!  I always enjoy seeing pictures of homeschoolers at work and play.

Burnett Children Enter Art Contest

Congratulations from PCHEA!

Faith, Hope and Bradley Burnett submitted artwork for the 2007 International Art Contest that Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History in Norman sponsored. There were 2,400 entries from all over the United States and from seven foreign countries. Only 300 were chosen for exhibit and of those, some received special recognition in their age categories. Hope won 3rd place for her sculpture, Bradley won Honorable Mention for his category. Faith's sculpture was chosen for exhibit. Prizes will be awarded and all winning and exhibited artists will be honored at a reception on May 19th at the museum. We are very proud of them for their hard work!

Future Homeschooler ~Photo of the Week

Julie and I are new grandmothers!  Yes, that's right!  Julie's son and my daughter just had their first baby on Monday, the 12th.  This is the first grandchild for both of us.  You can bet that we are excited and feeling blessed beyond measure.  God is good!

A New Engine ~Photo of the Week

Need a new engine in your car?  Just call the experts, Fredrick, Brent, and John Akin!  Over Christmas break they took a non-working engine out of Brent's Saturn and replaced it with a used engine from a junk car.  After they were finished, the car really did run!  Congratulations guys, for a job well done.
