Plan Your Destination - Geography Fair

Posted in PCHEA Events
The annual PCHEA Geography Fair is scheduled for January 28th.  So far, five families have signed up.  The countries taken to date are Australia, Saudi Arabia, Ancient Egypt, and Medieval England.

As you can see, people are not only choosing countries, but some are also choosing periods of history for their countries.  That means modern Egypt and England are still up for grabs!

So where are the rest of you going to take us for a virtual vacation?  Let me know!  =-)

Have a blessed day!
Sarah Montgomery

Keepers of the Faith Club

Posted in PCHEA Events
Hi all,

Just a reminder that the next Keepers of the Faith meeting will be on November 17th from 4:30-6:30 @ New Beginnings Church off of Harrison St. If you've ordered a book recently and have not paid for it you will need to do that before the order can be placed. Keepers of the Home girls should be finishing up their dolls so they can be ready to start sewing the outfits for the dolls at the next meeting. Please remember to bring your doll project with you. If you signed up for a month to coordinate the Lil' Keepers please e-mail and let me know so I can have a record on who is doing which month.

Have a wonderful week!!

Fondly,
Teresa

Hello PCHEA Family!

Hope everyone is enjoying Fall, and all the special celebrations that go along with it. Our Fall Social held at the New Hope Baptist Church, and then later at the Akins' home, was a great success, despite the weather. We all enjoyed the hayride throughout the Akin's back pasture, and the hot apple cider afterwards.
We had a fun dessert contest held at the Shawnee Library. The kids had a blast. The dads had the hard job of picking the winners in each category, and we all got to help eat all the beautiful and yummy creations. Thanks kids, for doing such a great job of baking. Everything was delicious!!
So far this year we have had several field trips, and events, and all have gone well. There are no special events planned for November and December, but we are needing some help with events planned for the early part of next year. Please check out our website, homeschoolblogger.com/pchea , and look under "around the blog/2009/10 calendar of events" for details of upcoming events. There are several that are in need of coordinators or helpers. If interested in helping, please contact Jeri Akin or Nancy Schwab.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Will and Nancy Schwab

Share your event photos. Create an album, or post to an existing one, at our Yahoo PCHEA group. Or, send pictures to Ruth at eightsmiths [at] gmail [dot] com for posting to homeschoolblogger.com/pchea .

Have you missed the
invitation to our private
group site? Send a note to
groups.yahoo.com/subscribe/pcheagroup .

Challenge! Get to … groups.yahoo.com/group/pcheagroup
save to your favorites, or as an icon on your toolbar.

Here you will have access to our monthly newsletter, current member directory, calendar of events, local resource & family business directories, group event photos, curriculum swap & shop, and an archive of postings from PCHEA friends.

When replying to posts, from site or e-mail, please delete the original message text, and check where your reply will be sent (to the group, or to the person). Likewise, consider editing your membership to control receipt of group activity. Administrative, & informative announcements, will be sent as special notices – this would be the best choice for basic PCHEA news (You can catch the “extras”, at site, on your own time).

If you like constant contact, choose individual e-mail. Or, the
daily digest will forward each day's individual posts to you as one. Many of you work PCHEA group from your e-mail because you are not able to log in. Easy site access requires a current Yahoo account (apparently, group communiqué is not account activity). So, … start at one of these for help with this: help.yahoo.com, or groups.yahoo.com

About PCHEA

PCHEA is an OCHEC affiliated support group. We are Christian in orientation and leadership, as are most of our members, but we do not exclude anyone on the basis of their beliefs. We are committed to home educators; to help each other accomplish our educational goals, to support one another in love, and to strengthen and promote quality home education in our area. We are diverse with families from all walks of life. Families in our group espouse various educational philosophies, use a wide spectrum of curricula and teach children at many levels, from pre-school through high school.
