With the number of business card design programs out there, small business owners can even create their own cards at home inexpensively. My local Staples store had several software programs that looked like fun.
Even having cards professionally printed is not as cost-prohibitive as some may think. It's one of the best investments a new business owner can make. Always make sure you leave something OFF the card, too, so that you can tell the recipient, "Let me give you my (insert item) too!" When you handwrite your cell number or alternate email address on a card, it adds a personal touch that the recipient will remember. (One good reason to never get clear coating on an entire card, front and back...you can't write anything on it!)
Great post!
