Quiet Time + Deadlines = Productivity

I have recently been encouraged to post more often on my blog and am amazed that the Lord is giving me ideas daily (but why amazed? doesn't he always do that?). Here is an excerpt and ideas from some recent entries and link at bottom to go see all the details including how I make my QT coffee!
I take to my favorite spot, indoors or out, Bibles, goal and planning notebooks, my favorite medium point UniBall VisionElite pens and an Avery highligher. I either pray first or immediately begin writing in my journal. It is an "everything" journal. I pray prayers (most often in a positive faith-filled way or in a thanksgiving way), record current thoughts, and even sometimes use a separate page for a book entry (such as my upcoming nature devotional). I also jot down any ideas the Lord gives me during this entire time. Next I read the Bibleright now I am reading an old paperback -The Message version and also the Psalms in the King James version. I always use the highlighter when reading the Bible and sometimes a pen for notes. By the way, Muslims think it is sacreligious to write in Bibles, so do not let them see you do it or give them a Bible that has been written in. An option in this case, or if it is just not in you to mark up a fine book, would be to have a special notebook where you copy those special verses and notes about them. Finally I look at my long-term, medium-term and short-term goals lists considering what I have to do and then write my daily to-do list accordingly, using A, B and C to mark according to importance of task. I love my quiet time, and I find that the longer I spend at it, the more productive my day is. Although some would feel that they would have to hurry to get on with their lists, things actually work differently. Preparation equals greater productivity.
Another crucial key to productivity is setting firm deadlines. See more of this at my blog too.
