Free FUN Activities Every day of the week at Art of Eloquence!

By JoJo Tabares

Over the last several months, Art of Eloquence has been working on some exciting new and free activities for homeschooling families!  We are passionate about training Christian youth to speak effectively and confidently and we love to bring those skills to children using humor and hands-on activities in order to make learning fun and more productive.  We now have free activities each day of the week!  Here are some of the things we have been working on for you.

We’re blogging!  http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/CommunicationFUNdamentals/  For your amusement and confusement, Communication FUNdamentals brings you a different topic each day of the week:

Former president Ronald Reagan used humor to convey his positive Christian world view.  Art of Eloquence uses humor to teach communication skills with a Christian perspective!  In honor of our Annual Say What You Mean Convention held in February remembering Ronald Reagan and of our new study, Say What You Mean: Defending the Faith, we bring you a different Ronald Reagan quote on faith and politics!

Mailbag Mondays bring you some of our mail asking the most burning communication questions.  Sort of a Dear Abby of communication skills.  Come see my advice for tough communication situations and answers to communication questions.

Tuesday Tips brings you a new communication tip for handling various communication issues.

FIMM has a second home on Art of Eloquence!  The Misadventures of Foot in Mouth Man were so popular that in addition to starring FIMM in his very own video, we created a whole page on our website just for him.  FIMM fans can now visit FIMM’s page at http://artofeloquence.com/pages/FIMM.php to watch his video, read his newest episode and even catch up on all of FIMM’s misadventures!  These are great mini lessons for children who think communication skills are boring or intimidating.  Just grab a cup of coffee and sit down every Wednesday with FIMM for a few minutes to laugh while you teach/learn!

Issues Thursday brings you a new article about communication skills with the latest studies, statistics and news.  I relate news articles and how their communication skills affected how they came across.  How we, as Christians can voice our opinions and ideas so they can be heard with open hearts and minds.

Friday Funnies brings you a new communication joke or funny picture.  All family friendly these are fun for the kids-great for opening up a discussion about communication skills and taking the topic to new levels in a fun and engaging way.

Speak Up Saturdays bring an issue that we can discuss.  Leave your comments and join in the discussion about how communication skills can help.

Another free activity you and your family can have fun with is the Purple Crayon Award!  This award goes out to the nominee who has the most creative approach to effective communication that month.  We take nominations all month long!  Parents can nominate your children if they have said something especially profound or cute!  Customers can nominate a business for exemplary customer service or their user-friendly website.  Friends can nominate each other for a poem or story or blog post they wrote.  You can read more about the Purple Crayon Award here: http://artofeloquence.com/pages/purplecrayonaward.php

Another free service we provide is our Yahoo support group for Christian parents of shy, gifted or learning disabled children.  Homeschooling with Humor is a place of fellowship and fun as we share our blessings and frustrations.  We provide articles with information on homeschooling special needs children, interactive activities for both parents and their children, monthly TeleChats where we fellowship and hear speakers of interest to us and our children.  In the month of November, we are hosting a Prayer TeleChat for Thanksgiving.  You are invited to join us.  We will go around the “room” and each say what we are thankful to the Lord for providing this year and then ask for prayer for whatever we are in need.  It should be a fun time of fellowship and praising the Lord!  Come join us at Homeschooling with Humor.  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HSwithHumor/

Lastly, we are busy preparing for the (even bigger and better!) Second Annual Say What You Mean Convention in February!  This is an online (virtual) convention held each year in February to remember the Great Communicator, Ronald Reagan, on his birthday!  This is just like a homeschool convention only it’s for improving your communication skills and it’s entirely online!  You don’t have to pay for parking or get a baby sitter for the kids.  Just log on in the comfort of your own home and participate in all the fun for the whole family!  The convention is three days (Feb. 1-3rd) and features free seminars, guest speakers, games, prizes and interactive workshops for all ages kids and adults!  http://www.SayWhatYouMeanConvention.com

Art of Eloquence is so excited to welcome you to take advantage of the free activities we have for you and your family each day!  Many of the activities and communication studies we have began as an idea from one of our customers.  So please feel free to email us with YOUR suggestions!  info@artofeloquence.com
