Google is the most important and frequently used search engine. To make sure your blog is indexed do the following:

• Go to www.google.com
• Enter the short form of your blog name (homeschoolblogger.com/redmom for me)
• If your blog title comes up you are indexed! Great!
• You'll also note that there are links to see what other indexed sites might be linking to you. This is a great way to identify what others are interested in on your site.

So...what if you are not indexed? Below are a few options.

• Go to the Google  "submit your site" page and manually list your site. This works but can take a couple of months for you to start showing up in the listings.
• Trade links with someone already listed in Google. This can  be one of your own websites or trade links with a listed friend. This should get you listed quickly.
• Also, list your blog in as many blog directories as you can. Here is a good directory list to start working your way through.
