Turn Prospects into Customers
8:54 AM, Feb. 13, 2006

If you have a whole database of people that have contacted you for information on your products but who have never purchased, then you need to take some steps to turn those prospects into customers.

Set yourself apart from your competition. What do you do better than they do? Do you provide a higher quality product? Do you have a better return policy? Publish these strengths on your website and in your marketing material. Make sure your prospects are aware of these strengths, so when they are ready to purchase they'll come back to you.

Follow up with the prospect. If some one has requested information from your website or has been sent a catalog in the mail but hasn’t yet purchased, send them a postcard, newsletter, or email. Keep your company fresh in their minds and extend a special offer to motivate them to make a purchase.

Provide good information on your business and products in your marketing material and website. Don’t make the prospect hunt for the information they’re looking for. Tell them why they need your product, why they can trust you, what the price is, what your return policy is, and how they can make a purchase.

Make yourself available. Should they have questions or comments make sure they know how to contact you. Soon, these prospects will be customers and you’ll begin to see your company grow.
