If youve been in business more than a year or two, hopefully you have loyal, repeat customers. Its great to have new customers purchase your product but you also need loyal customers that purchase from you year after year. You want to keep the repeat customers coming back and you want to make your new customers into repeat customers.
Do you currently do something special for your repeat customers? If not, you should consider starting a loyalty program.
Why a loyalty program?
- It gives your customers one more reason to choose your product of another.
- It shows your customers that you appreciate their business and you will work to earn their loyalty.
- Its a great way to stay connected to your customers.
- It can help generate excitement about your product and business.
If you decide to start a loyalty program, you need to figure out a few things before youre ready to launch it.
- Will you manage the loyalty program or will you outsource this to another company?
- What will you give your repeat customers? Will you give each repeat customer the same discount structure or will you do a tiered programthe more you purchase the larger the discount you receive?
- Will you provide a sort of loyalty program card or ID number for your customers?
- Will customers need to register for your loyalty program or will each repeat customer automatically be enrolled?
As you can see there are lots of options for establishing your loyalty program. Conduct some research to determine what your loyalty program will look like. You may also want to speak with some of your repeat customers and get their ideas and opinions on what would entice them to be a part of your loyalty program.
