Sep. 5, 2006 - SLACKER>>>LOL!

OK so I am a BUM!  I found out someone actually reads this because she emailed me like 2 weeks ago  and asked me to not stop.  So I am going to try and be better about this.

My Homeschooling Life:
Well I have learned a lot in the one month I have been doing this.  Go SLOW!  So in my first week I learned that  writing to a 4 year old is hard.  So we put away on of the handwriting language arts curriculum we have been doing and we are only doing HWT.  She loves it!  She can now write her name.  Woo Hoo, yep I cried.  I was such a proud mommy.
I have also learned that everyday is to much.  We do it 3 days a week.  Mon, Wed, and Fri.  and on Fri. if she has had a good week we have craft day.  I will learn how to post pictures and have to post some.
Structure is good around here.  Do what helps with behavior, we have less sassy mouth now that we are enjoying school.

My Scrapbooking Life:
I have also found out that many people read my homeschooling blog b/c I am also a scrapbooker.  This is my hobby and my down time.  So this year I am going to let Abby do a mini scrapbook of her first year homeschooling.  She is very excited about it.  I am also participating in a homeschool scrapbook challenge.  I will try and post the challenge here also for those of you who want to participate.  One day I will also figure out how to post layouts for you to see and will post my layouts.  I really need to figure this out.  I think I just found it.  I will try and upload some pictures today.

Jun. 28, 2006 - Box Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it is official I am terrible at keeping up with this.  LOL!  I have gotten my box.  I attacked the UPS man when he knocked on the door.  My 4 year old (she is now 4) isn't here to share in the excitement with me but I called her and let her know what was waiting for her.  She is at work with her daddy today and she is so excited.

The books are beautiful.  I am about to take some much needed time to myself and look at all my stuff and start planning our schedule.  We are going to start with literature and then add on a little bit at a time.  We will then do LA, and Math.  That will be all for this year.  We will be learning about animals and she is VERY excited about that.  We will also have her taking dance, piano, and my mom's best friend owns an art gallery and she will go there once a week to play because she loves it so much.  Wow she will be a busy girl.  I will try and post a picture later when she gets home of her with all her books.

Mar. 21, 2006 - The Journey of Homeschooling and Blogging

I have just started blogging and I already have a scrapbooking blog.  I saw this and knew I needed to start a homeschooling blog.  So here I am blogging again.  I hope to include my journey and struggle to find the perfect curriculum, I have now found it.  My first days of homeschooling my very eager 3 year old who will soon be 4 and I can't believe it.  I hope that this will be helpful to those of you who are just starting out.  Honestly I am a mixed ball of emotions of this...excited, scared, questioning, and the list goes on.
