Raising Up a Godly Generation

Mar. 26, 2008 - Spring Time

Warm weather makes me want to throw out the books and head to the mountains!  I hate the beach!  It is sandy, and hot and salty.  Why would I go to the beach when I can get hot and wet and dirty in my own yard, without thousands of other people, half neked strutting around? (Neked is southern for naked)  Oh well, one week of freedom is all I get, then reality sets back in.

Nov. 10, 2007 - My Only Son

Nicholas Matthew is my only son and I am so grateful for him.  He has a sweet spirit and kind heart.  He is wonderful with his little sister and buddies with his big sister.  He makes me laugh and he makes me think.  I love you Nick.

Nov. 10, 2007 - It's beginning to look alot like...

Fall?  Kind of- the nights do get cool. in the 50's, but boy, do I miss the change of leaves, fireplaces and the smell of cool air.  It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

Nick and I are studying the Pilgrims this month with A New World of Adventure, and reading the Story of Pilgrims.  Just to be sure we got enough pilgrims in, we are also reading the Little Pilgrims Progress!  We are really enjoying all of them, and he is learning so much about our countries beginning.

We adopted a soldier through our church and sent out a Thanksgiving package yesterday, hope he gets it in time.  We will also be sending out a Christmas box.  Nick and Dad both wrote letters to him and they were both beautiful, I am so proud of them both.  We included socks, playing cards, candy, a Santa, hat. hot cocoa and a little book of Bible verses.

My parents are coming out for Christmas!! I can't wait, I haven't seen them since July, and that was only for a day but they will be here for 9 days, I am so excited!!!!  Not sure what we will do when they get here, but, something always comes up.

Oh yeah, I began working out again, I mean not just dancing, lifting weights, walking and training with a trainer.  I could barely walk the first week, people have already been asking if I am losing weight, not yet, but, hopefully soon.

Gonna go cuddle with the kids and watch Elf- Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving!

Oct. 24, 2007 - 1 year later

So I really have no excuse now, I am still 40 pounds overweight, Sophia is a year old now, so I can't really blame it all on her.  I need to stop eating sweets so much!  I just love sugar though.  I have been excercising, but it is time to step it up.  I really need to go 5 times a week and stop eating sugar.  Anyone else need an accountability partner?

Oct. 22, 2007 - Crazy Winds and Fire

Wow!  The fires are really lighting up the skies here.  There is an orange hue to the atmosphere.  The wind was blowing all night, I hardly slept.  I was praying all night that God would watch over us and protect us.  The fires seem to be going away from us, for now, but the winds are amazing.  It is like being in a hurricane without the rain.  And the heat is amazing, up in the 90's today.  They say these are the strongest Santa Ana winds they have seen in ages, I believe it.  How may heart yearns for home, been here in Hot country too long.  But this earth is not my home.
