I've been encouraged by the good news from Ma Cong that he will soon be fitted with his artificial leg, yet I am still burdened by the situation with his mom. I don't know very much about her but I do know that she is in their home town. I recently found out that a friend is in that town right now teaching the few kids that are still there. She has asked if we could help get her some school supplies, and she is checking to see if we could come visit her. Please pray that I would be given permission to visit the school, and also that I would have an opportunity to meet Ma Cong's mom. I've printed out a bunch of pictures of Ma Cong from the internet so that she can see that he is doing well, but also that will hopefully encourage her as well as help her visualize her son now that he's had his leg amputated. The area that this school (as well as Ma Cong's mom) is in is very hard to reach as the roads were badly damaged in the quake. I believe that they've been limiting volunteers, and probably especially foreigners, from this area for a number of reasons. I'm praying that my friend would find favor with the government and that I could go and visit. Please pray with me! |
