I thought I might pass this on, you all may like it. We try to write an e-update every 2months (supposed to be every month, but you know how that goes!!)
TIDINGS FROM TAIWAN (E-UPDATE ABOUT THE PANS)
=============================================
May 9, 2006
Well, yet again over a month has passed. Seems like everytime I sit down at the computer, I remember I need to write an update AFTER I turn everything off. Life gets hectic. Of course, for some odd reason EVERYONE needs something from Mommy as soon as she sits down at the computer. Haven't quite figured that out yet. Sometimes I tell the boys "You know, you have a daddy too.....go ask him!"
Well, this is our first month of not having to pay the van money. Man, does that feel good. After looking at budgets and stuff, we are even more at awe of God's awesome provisions for us. I will not say that I didn't shed a tear or two (or more) over it, I will not say I humbly laid it all at our Savior's feet. I look at it now and think, WHY didn't I? Why didn't I just put it there at His feet. God has surely shown us a number of things, and lets us know even moreso now that HE IS LISTENING!! and that we, as His children, are more important than the sparrows, and HE takes care of them, surely HE is going to take care of His children.
Sunday mornings seem to be a competition recently,not REALLY, but we joke around about it. I often tell the adults..."uh oh, looks like the children have you beat this Sunday", concerning attendance. Then at the last minute (well, Chinese time) a few more adults come in. This past Sunday we had 18 adults and 12 children (and 2 babies!!). It was very encouraging to say the least. This Saturday is supposed to be our ladies monthly meeting. We were going for tea, leaving the kids with the youth group. One lady, also a fosterparent, just got a newborn in addition to the 1yr old and said she wasn't sure about leaving the kids. I told her ones this little made no difference. BUT then her sister asked if the whole church would come to their house........out in the village...for a day. Sure, why not. This also will give us good ideas about our village work plans. So Saturday our church is having yet another outting......they love it!!! They said to make sure I bring my chocolate cake:-)
We are on a weeks vacation from homeschooling. Gives me time to get caught up on somethings and do some extra stuff. If the weather is good, Luke is taking the big boys fishing. Josiah has been joining Joshua for "classes" now. He will turn 4yr old on June 18th!! man, where has the time come. Noah will be 2yr old in July. My babies are growing and turning into young men. Luke and I were commenting the other day about Joshua. He has been helpful with Noah (him and Josiah are a different story!!hahaha) and doing stuff around the house. I will not say he has been the happy, obedient, well mannered child all of a sudden, but there are more good days than bad;p We are excited to see what God has in store for our boys.
Please keep church camp in July in your prayers as well as Luke going to Hong Kong to speak at a camp. He may take some extra time to check out some Mainland China possibilities with other national pastors. So keep these all in your prayers.
Til the Trumpet Sounds,
Luke and Deana Pan and boys
