ok, there is shaved ice in Taiwan. It is NOT American shaved ice....I found someone brave enough to take pix..........me, I don't take all those pix because I feel it draws too much attention to me as there aren't tons of foreigners in my town........
here are fruit shaved ice bowls (chwa bing)......
the first is strawberry/bannana , then the next one is mango........oh, it is now mango season and I LOVE MANGO!!(ps--my oldest just walked in and saw these pictures and says...."your killin' me mom!!! I am droolin' now!!".........these are really really really good!!!
This one is a more traditional bing one of my friends enjoyed--it is topped with green beans, herbal jelly, and peanuts:
a self serve chwa bing store:-)...... You fill up the bowl, they weigh it, and then top it with ice and the brown sugar water
