Passion for Purple

My Newest Poem.

Posted on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 08:20 in My Personal Devotions and Poems

Have you ever gotten down on your knees to pray and could not even form a thought? You know what you WANT to say but the words will not come. The emotion is there, perhaps overwhelming you, and all you can do is kneel, trying desperately to form a prayer that makes sense. This happens to me frequently, more so when I am weary or upset. I thank the Lord, that when I am tongue tied or confused or just plain weary, He hears me.The Holy Sprit interceeds for us when we can't speak the words. He knows what I can't say or can't think. I am thankful that it's not in the words that He hears our prayer, or in the swirl of emotion. or even, in the lack of emotion. I am just thankful that God can hear me, when I cant even speak.. Thank you God!

Let Your Heart Speak.

Songs within our hearts, the world can not hear.

Joys that can not be expressed

about things we hold most dear.

Our hearts sometimes struggle

Under a load of burden and cares

Earthly friends who love us deeply,

Those pains we can not share.

Jesus knows our every thought

Joyous happy or glad

He also knows the pain we feel

The ones that make us sad.

We don't need words to tell the Lord

The things that cause us pain.

We don't need words to tell the Lord

joys we wish to gain.

So let your heart tell the Lord

the things you can not say.

He knows the words you can not speak

and what you wish to say.

 Romans 8:26,27

My Day--A poem

Posted on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 08:27 in My Personal Devotions and Poems

My Day

Can I live for you Lord as I go through my day?

So many things I do, I let get in my way.

The cleaning, the cooking, the homeschooling too,

So much to be done that I forget about you.

My life is to busy, I forget I should pray.

The hustle and bustle just sweep me away.

I can't do it on my own, my strength is not there

I can't carry my load of worries and cares.

My life I must fully surrender to you.

My days will be blessed as you carry me through

I must put you first, it's what I should do

The rest will get done if I focus on you.

Your word I will read as I wake up each day,

I will remember to stop to thank you and pray.

My strength will come from you, my dear Lord

As you speak to me through,

Your holy precious Word.

A Promise of Rest

Posted on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 09:06 in My Personal Devotions and Poems

A Promise of Rest

Lord grant me wisdom in all that I do.
Your love and guidance shall carry me through.
The world is full of pain and continual tests,
But for those who are saved,
God promises an eternity of rest.

The Sensation Blessing Me

Posted on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 02:34 in My Personal Devotions and Poems

I enjoy writing poetry
It's something new for me
I love to feel the words flow,
the sensation blessing me.

I yearn to write a poem
that touches someone's heart
I desire to show the love of God
as it's growing in my heart.

Help me Lord, to write the words
that honor and glorify you.
To use the gift that you've bestowed
A gift to use for you.

A Poem Deep Inside

Posted on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 10:39 in My Personal Devotions and Poems

I have a poem deep inside,

Words swirling round my head.

I want so much to let them out

They're trapped inside instead.

I cry "Dear Lord, please help me out

To pen the words for you .

I want to show your glory now

In everything I do. "

He said "Dear child, I understand

The words won't come to you.

I know your heart, I know your mind

And everything you do."

Don't let the flesh take over now ;

It's time to let me work

To show my love

Through your penned words.

I know what's best for you.

It's time to pray, to let me help.

I'll show my glory too

Just let the words flow freely now

I'll pen the words for you."
