During the years before the fall of Jerusalem, God sent many prophets to warn them of the coming judgment and plea with them to... Repent.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I fear that God is preparing to judge America for its sins, some would say he has already begun. If there is not another Great Awakening within the next quarter of a century, America as we know it will be history. America is consumed in the sins of drink and sexual immorality, abortion and gambling, homosexuality and Islamic support and for abandoning Israel. Of all the sins that a nation can commit, sins against Israel have the most direct results. I have recently come across some statistics on how God is judging us for the way we treated the Jewish State. Let me share them.

*In 1991 U.S. launched its land-for-peace plan to divide Israel between the Jews and the Palestinians. That same year a Perfect Storm with 100 ft wave hit New England damaging President Bush’s home.
* In August 1992, talks resumed for Israel to surrender land for peace. That same month Hurricane Andrew hit the U.S. coast, costing $30 billion.
*April-September 1993, Israel and the PLO work on and sign a compromise peace agreement pushed by the U.S. During that same time the country is hit with the most devastating and widespread flooding in U.S. history, costing $21 billion.
*August 25th - September 10th 2001, The U.S., Arabia, and Israel prepare the most comprehensive “peace plan” ever. September 11th, the twin towers and the pentagon are attacked, just before plans are finalized. Costing the U.S. $40 billion.
*November 7-12 2002, During Ramadan, an Islamic Holy day, President Bush hosted a dinner to honor Islam and the “ revelation of God’s word in the Holy Koran”. That year 88 tornadoes hit seven states.
* In August 2005, the U.S. pressured Israel into evacuating the Gaza, causing many families to be relocated - losing everything. That same month Hurricane Katrina formed in the Atlantic. Costing $200 billion.
*In 2005 alone, messing in Israel's affairs cost the U.S. over $56 billion in tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and drought.
* Sin Costs

I believe that all our national sins cost, just like our sin of rejecting Israel as God’s chosen people. I just haven’t found the statistics yet, but I’m sure they are there. If repentance doesn’t come quickly we will see more national disasters and more terrorist attacks. The cost will soon bankrupt our nation. Now is the time to pray for our nation.

Although the apathy of some Christians and the wickedness of society are discouraging, we should pray and remain confident. William Wilberforce was a great Christian vigorous opponent of the slave trade in England during the early 1800s. As he surveyed the terrible moral and spiritual climate of his day, he did not lose hope. He wrote, "My own solid hopes for the well-being of my country depend, not so much on her navies or armies, nor on the wisdom of her rulers, nor on the spirit of her people, as on the persuasion that she still contains many who love and obey the gospel of Christ. I believe that their prayers may yet prevail." Within a few years after he made this statement, the country he loved experienced one of the greatest revivals in modern times, bringing salvation to thousands and producing widespread social changes.

Another Great Awakening can happen in America if we will pray, repent, and humble ourselves.
