Well, now I know I wasn't really in the mood for this potluck thing tonight, and feeling sick made me not to eager for the Bible study either, but the Youth group was supposed to go to "Yipi Bubble Tea" tonight and my oldest daughter simply HAD to go. So I dragged myself to Church.Well, when it was time for Bible study, I found out that what had actually been planned was for us to watch a Video about creation, however the projector thingy (Power Point?) was broken, so while the Youth set off to have Bubble Tea, the adults were just going to stay and pray. We had a wonderful time of prayer, and although my head and back hurt and I felt like lying down, I ended up being glad that I made it.
Meantime the Youth Group was not enjoying a frothy glass of Bubble Tea (more on that later if you don't know what it is). What the Youth Group was doing was Pushing The Great Big Church Van Up a Hill! It seems that our local gas bandit has once again cut the van's fuel line. That's okay, you know one day God will use this to convict the person of their need for forgiveness.
Anyway, after I found out my daughter didn't get to do what she'd planned, I thought she must be awfully disappointed, and I was prepared to offer words of condolence, (and an offer to take her for some Bubble Tea sometime soon). Well, the condolence wasn't needed, when we got in our van to go home the first thing out of her mouth was, "That was so much fun!"
So, the church had specific plans for the adults, and God had His own plan. The church had specific plans for the Youth, and God had His own plan. And you know what? God's plans turned out to be WAY better than ours!
For those of you who haven't yet heard of Bubble Tea, think of it as the Latte of tea drinkers! Apparently it is an Asian drink, that has been around for some time, but is relatively new to the U.S. I tried one recently, and it was good, but unlike anything I've ever had before. Great big pearls of colorless tapioca sat on the bottom of the of the pink strawberry and green tea froth, and occasionally one pearl would slip up through extra big straw, giving me the sensation of having a chunk of unflavored gummy bear in my mouth.
Well, that is all I have for tonight. I am going to finish up with the homeschool records for the day, print out tomorrow's lists, and go to bed early because I have to work tomorrow.
