Usually we do an egg hunt the day before Easter, so that on Resurrection Sunday we can focus completely on the Lord. This year, we had our egg hunt on Friday, because my husband had special plans today. We had a fun alternative to the traditional egg hunt this year. This year we visited "pretend land", and had a scavenger hunt for "treasures".
The idea was basically that at breakfast, the kids got a note that gave them a clue, the clue said something like, "In the Old Wagon by the compost, you'll find a clue." So right after breakfast, the kids rushed out to the wrong wagon, then they realized their mistake and took off for the old wagon near the compost pit. So here is my youngest daughter getting the clue from the wagon.
The clues continued on like this, leading them all over, sometimes the clue led to just another clue, and sometimes to one of their baskets. Now I was so busy trying to capture the moments, that I am not really sure what all the clues said (my hubby set this up). So I will just post some pictures, along with comments when I can.

As you can see in the photo above, some of the clues led us down the road away from our house... and in the photo below we are all the way over at grandma and grandpa's (they live on the adjacent property to us). In the photo below you can also see that my husband hid the last basket up high!

The kids had a blast, and didn't even notice that they had about half the amount of candy they usually get!
