I hope you all have a wonderful week-end at your homes with your family.
I would like to ask for your prayers for my mother, who needs to gain her strength back to stand up on her legs.
I also would like to ask for prayers for a young boy at my church. His name is Jeremiah, he is 11 and he is very sick.
His parents thought that he might have the flu after running a high fever for a couple of days and complaining of body aches.
They took him to the ER Thursday night only to find out he does not have the flu, he has luekemia !! With out any warning at all till the fever and body aches which is actually pain in his bones.
The ER at the children's hospital sent him right away to St Jude Children's Hospital here in Memphis for cancer treatment. They even started chemo on him before they were finished with testing to see which type he has and at what stage. It is really bad.
Needless to say, his parents are walking around in shock. My pastor is trying to help them but he (my pastor) has now come down very sick.
So, as see this morning, I could use some prayers for us here. And I want to thank you ahead of time for them.
Fall is here and school is slow. We are so the type of un-schoolers even though we aren't. Does that make any sense?
We just love being outside and enjoying the cooler weather. We also love to be busy with home making things that we get side track. This is not good. I mean it is great that my daughters want to learn everything that they can with me in the kitchen and such. But this will not help to get to graduation.
We are already trying to come up with things to make for Christmas gifts. We know for sure that we will be making candles. We always have baked goods and home-made candies. But we want to make something else that is different then before............I will keep thinking on this.
The picture above in this post is my hubby. He just loves riding the tractor and I just love watching him. So I thought that I would share this from this past week-end.
Well I have on my "To-Do" list to get some baking done. I have to get some bread made but I also want to make some oatmeal cookies and a pumpkin pie or two.
I have the desire to make Apple Butter but so far I got my apples ready and placed them in the freezer. I also did this with my pears.
How is your school year going? I need some feedback on this.
It is that time of year around here to go and pick STRAWBERRIES !!! I have located a place for us to go and now I just need to see which day would be best. It is already heating up some during the day also, so we would need to plan to go in the morning hours. So for my "To-Do" list next week I need to jump on this.
Today is piano lesson day so that means we will also go into the "big city" to run all of our errands. Which is just another way of saying " We are heading to Walmart !!
I made home-made bread last night and when I get home I will be posting some pictures of it. I want to log in my progress as I work to "prefecting" my bread making. I made 4 loaves, I sent one home with some friends, we have eaten almost 1 whole loaf and I have 2 left to go. I hope to make some more today or start my work on learning to make rolls and buns.
So for now, I will go. I hear the shower calling my name. Come back later to see my bread-making results.
Boy it has been a while since I have beenhere on my blog. I have "popped" in for visits and looked around at everyone else's blog, but just had not taken the time to post myself.
I am hoping to make this my regular blog from now on. I need to get back to more homeschooling things here at home and not just be going throuth motions so to say. We all need to get excited again about homeschooling.
My oldest has finished her first year in college and had come out with a GPA of 3.6 over all. Algebra still kicked her good even in college. But with all of her "under-graduatate" classes, she has a GPA of 4.0 !! Yea !! You go you homeschool girl !!!!!
My other two are finishing up some work and we will be taking a break here soon. We homeschool year round, so we will not be off all summer, just for a few weeks. It just works out better for us to do it this way. We really can't do it any other way now.
SO I hope that all of you are ending a great year of homeschooling. I would love to hear how your year went. I couls use some encouragement right about now. I am finishing up my 11th yr and I have 8 more to go !!!
Also, many of you know taht I am the Manager of Homeschool Nations here at homeschool blogger and If you are interested in taking on your state blog and posting for me during the coming months, let me hear from you. I have a few states that I need to find some one for and I would love to talk to you about it.
I thought that I might share what it is starting to look like at my place. We are still "tidy" up a bit but you will get the idea of what it looks like.
This is the tree in our "gathering " room.
This is what you see coming in my front door.

This is our "snowman couple"
Tommy will greet you when you walk by.
Our stockings are hung !!!
This is where we keep our Chirstmas dishes. We use them all month !
Just a little bit around the top of the cabinets and gingerbread men to greet you.
One of "Martha's Good things" to brighten up the den.
This is the tree in our family room.
The same tree with the lights on. Notice the star on top, that's for my husband !!
Plaid and greenery, that's him.
Thanks for sharing. I will try to post some more when I get the bedrooms finished. We like to add a touch of Christmas to every room in the house. And if you are wondering, no there are not any presents under the trees yet, I have bought some, I just have not wrapped them yet, lol !!!
