Apr. 28, 2008 - Lessons learned

Ladies,

I am speaking from lessons I am in the process of learning the hard way.  Hug your husband daily and tell him you love him.  Pray for your husband daily, and I don't mean "Dear Lord, bless my hubby, watch over him etc, I mean really pray for him.  Get on your knees and lift him up to God.  Pray verses over him and give him to God daily.

Here goes, my husband has been facing a battle and he was arrested on Friday. He has to go before Pastor and will have to face the church most likely but also he has to go to court. He won't know until then what will happen. I didn't do anything wrong but I did know of the battle and I am staying beside him as he seeks to win this battle and hopefully is restored in his relationship with God. That is all the information I can give at this time.

I covet your prayers for our family and especially for Billy.    Mostly,  I am prayingfor victory and restoration with God.

I do feel guilty because I did not pray and put this on the throne like i should have.  I know he is a grown man and has to take responsibility but I have to take mine too.

I don't care if your hubby is facing this kind of battle or something alot less, pray for him, love him, hug him and hold on tight while you have him.

This applies to your children too.  If somebody can learn from our pain, at least some good can come out of this awful mess.

God Bless,

Pat

Hello Pat,
I'm so sorry you are going through this. You might be blessed by taking a look at this blogger -- her husband has been incarcerated for some time. adustyframe.com
Hopefully you won't have to go that route, but she has some excellent posts on forgiveness, saving her marriage, waiting on the Lord, etc.
...But spending time with the Lord would probably be better than reading blogs, even Lizzie's. :o)
Sally

PS. I just reread this, and I want to be sure you understand I was NOT saying you should get off the computer. I was just thinking of my own tendency to run everywhere but to the Lord!

Hi Sweetie,
Please know that I am standing in prayer for you and your hubby. I just thought of that old country song, "Stand By Your Man." If we as wives don't cover our hubbies with our prayers, Who will? This is a lesson for all of us wives. The devil is roaming around trying to devour our families "covering". Thank you for sharing some of your story. This should be a wake up call to all of us. This could of happened to anyone of our hubbies out here. My heart is grieving along with yours and am praying that God, In His Mercy would do a miracle for you and your family.
Keep The Faith, We'll talk later.

Pat,
I am really sorry to hear about your struggle... but thanks for the lesson in Prayer.... alot of times we do take for granted and dont pray for our husbands the way we should. Your situation can be a lesson to us all.... Just prayed!

Oh, Pat, i can hear your pain in your post.
Yes, our men do need lots of real prayer. As i've watched my own man struggle i have often been convicted that i must pray for him more. Go to battle on my knees.
We're still fighting our own battle, but God has been working on my man the past year. Nothing is impossible with God.

HUGS,
tracy

About Me

This is my place to share as I learn to be the Wife and Mom that God wants me to be. I am striving to be a Proverbs 31 wife, a homeschooling Mom that is training my children and grandson in the way God would have them to go. Also a place to share the joys and trials of caring for my Mom now that she can no longer care for herself.
