I am hoping to at least start half days on August 11, 2008. My daughter will be abck at college and we really need to get started. We did not do too well last year, our first year so I want to be back more on track this year. I read the other blogs and all and I feel so not prepared again this year. Hubby says we have to do better this year or he will send him back to public school-cannot handle that so we have to succeed. We do ACE paces and then we supplement with bible reading, Home Ec-yes I want him to be able to cook and take care of himself as a wife may not be in his future(though I hope there is) and I want him to be a good Daddy and husband, also we try to do field trips and will be doing a science project this year. I think scheduling and keeping him on track is the hardest part plus I have Moma and the house to take care of plus all of my church responsibilities and stuff. How do you set up a schedule and how do I keep records of the supplemental stuff we do besides paces? These are the things I am pondering and wondering about. Anyway I feel better writing it down and maybe one of my bloggy friends can point us in the right direction.
I love planning a new school year and setting up the schedules for everyone. But we have so much trouble sticking to it!! One thing I can suggest is using the Homeschool Tracker at tghomesoft.com (I think that is the addy - I have a link on my blog in the sidebar though) There is a free version as well as the premium version. it is fantastic tool to keep your grades, assignment lists, chores, etc, and is very easy to use!
This is my place to share as I learn to be the Wife and Mom that God wants me to be. I am striving to be a Proverbs 31 wife, a homeschooling Mom that is training my children and grandson in the way God would have them to go. Also a place to share the joys and trials of caring for my Mom now that she can no longer care for herself.
