The Simple Woman's Daybook~February 9th Edition

For Today...

Outside my window... sunny and the birds are singing

I am thinking... I have lots I need to be doing

From the learning rooms... still catching up

I am thankful for... my hubby who gets up and goes to work each day so i can stay home and homeschool our son

From the kitchen... pinto beans are simmering in the crockpot and waiting ont eh cornbread to go with them

I am wearing... pink pj's

I am reading... My bible

I am hoping... I get everything done this week that I need to get done

I am creating... stuff for tea Cozy swaps

I am hearing... the Tv

Around the house... clothes calling me saying hang me, fold me,put me up

One of my favorite things... hearing birds singing early in the quietness of morning, I feel so close to God

A few plans for the rest of the week... work on swaps, go to the nursing home, finish the Teens newsletter and get my house clean

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Pat, how about posting your beans and cornbread recipe? We make them here, too, but I have never used a recipe... I probably do it all wrong! Is there any way to reduce the gas-producing effects? Also, I heard recently that soaking your beans overnight, then freezing them with a bit of the liquid has the same effect as cooking for several hours. Cook for 20 minutes to finish softening them, then use in enchiladas or whatever else you use beans for. ?? Have you ever tried this?

I am first and foremost a child of the King. I am wife to Billy and Moma to Jonathan,Amanda and Stephen. Jonathan is married to Jenny who is my daughter-in-love and they have given us two wonderful grandchildren Jon Jr (JJ or Jr.) and Jenee'. I homeschool Stephen, care for our home and am very active at church. I am Director of Children's Ministries, over the Moms Group and am active in other areas in our church also. This blog is my place to share my life as I strive to homeschool Stephen, make my home a haven and serve the Lord.
