For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on
Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

No We Can't
Soon after I finished writing my last blog post (this morning) Rebecca told me she had just written a song. It pretty much went along with what I had just written, so I just had to share it here. Lyrics below.
Your team is blue, and mine is red
You pull the cap tight so it stays on your head
And the mega phone fills the air with noise
So our ears overflow with our poison of choice
If this is the big picture, I'm quitting the game
All the sponsers and logos and so glad you came's
To out-do one another, chanting Hope, Love and Change
It all seems so hypocritical
We want a world where everyone's free
We want a world without war, full of peace
Well there'll always be someone with hope for mankind
But then there'll always be someone with blood on their mind
Do we really think one man can settle the scores,
Can vanquish the vandals and throw away wars
Well if ever was one man, He's been here before
And you turned Him away when He knocked on your door
Honesty rides in the back of the bus,
While we push and we shove, and we yell "PEACE OR BUST"
So dumb, we like sheep are going astray
Red and blue will soon mix with every other coloured flag
And someday when the whole world is covered in grey
We will question how things ever got this way
We've got the cure, but we ignore the diseased
We like to sound sure and let our pride live at ease
But, maybe it's time for our country to fall
Living a lie for so long takes it's toll
We'll have a world where everyone's free
But not 'til the Mount feels the soles of Jesus feet
Cause there's always been someone with hope for mankind
And it took all His blood to bring sight to our eyes
He's the One man who can settle the scores,
Who can transform a vandal and shatter our wars
Cause we are all broken at our very core,
And the One who could heal us we fiercely ignored
But it won't be long, til the day that Jesus comes
And he draws all hearts that love Him to His side
When He calls us home, I'll be so full I could explode
And it won't matter who's in that house of white
But one day all knees will bow and will call Him Lord
